The Labour Welfare and Skill Development Department, Tamil Nadu (“Department”) has invited public comments on the Draft Amendment proposing changes to the Tamil Nadu Shops and Establishments Rules, 1948 (“Principal Rules”).
Stakeholders may submit their objections or suggestions (if any), in duplicate to the Secretary to Government, Labour Welfare and Skill Development Department, Secretariat, Chennai – 600 009, through the Commissioner of Labour, Chennai – 600 006, by 12th May, 2025.
Key highlights:
- A new requirement has been proposed for filing a combined annual return through the designated web portal of the Labour Department. This return must be submitted to the Inspector of the respective area using Form-ZC on or before 31st January of each year.
- The format of Form-ZC has also been proposed to be incorporated into the Principal Rules.
