UGC seeks comments from stakeholders on draft amendments to UGC (Open and Distance Learning Programmes and Online Programmes) Regulations 2020 by 15th March, 2022

The University Grants Commission has issued draft amendments to the UGC (Open and Distance Learning Programmes and Online Programmes) Regulations 2020 to ensure quality and an inclusive, participatory and holistic approach while simplifying the process of online distance learning and online regulatory framework in the country.

Comments and Suggestions, if any, are requested from all the stakeholders by 15th March, 2022 at the UGC website (https://deb.ugc.ac.in) .

Background: In order to promote Open and Distance Learning and Online Education, keeping in view the recommendation of the National Education Policy to have Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) of 50% by 2035, the University Grants Commission constituted an Expert Committee to review the existing framework w.r.t. Online distance learning. The Commission in a meeting dated 12th February 2022 accepted the report of the Committee and issued the draft amendments.
