In continuation to what we reported earlier in the e-mail below, the West Bengal Government, with a view to provide relief to the home buyers has decided to further extend the benefits with regard to rebate on stamp duty and circle rate till 30th June, 2024.
Background: The Finance (Revenue) Department of West Bengal, considering the economic slowdown during Covid-19 pandemic remitted Stamp Duty temporarily by 2% for several types of registration and reduced the Circle Rate temporarily by 10% on all types of immovable properties up to 31st January, 2022. The timeline was extended several times to provide further relief to the pandemic affected people including home buyers. The last extension was provided till 30th September, 2023 which has now been further extended.
