MOEFCC proposes to amend Ecomark Rules 2024; proposes changes in criteria for grant of Ecomark

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (“MOEFCC”) has proposed amendments to the Ecomark Rules, 2024 and has invited public comments till 7^th August, 2026.

Key Highlights:
1. The Draft Amendment proposes to amend the criteria for grant of Ecomark given under First Schedule of Ecomark Rules, 2024 for the products given below:

1. Paints, Varnishes and Powder Coatings;
2. Batteries;
3. Paper Products;
4. Wood and Wood Substitute Products;
5. Fire Extinguishers;
6. Coir and Coir Products.

2. The general and specific criteria for the products specified above are proposed to be amended.
