The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (“FSSAI”) in an earlier Gazette Notification dated 27th December, 2021 notified the Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Sixth Amendment Regulations, 2021 and prescribed provisions relating to the use of a specified logo on the product label of all milk and milk products to which all the Food Business Operators (“FBOs”) were required to comply by 1st July, 2022.
Now, after considering representations on the issue of “Milk Logo” by various stakeholders, the FSSAI has further extended the timeline for mandatory compliance with the same by the FBOs till 31st December, 2022. However, FBOs intending to comply earlier are free to do so.
