Ministry of Consumer Affairs issues Removal of Licensing Requirements, Stock Limits and Movement Restrictions on Specified Foodstuffs (Amendment) Order, 2022; prescribes stock limit for Edible oils and Oilseeds up to 30.06.2022

The Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution has issued the Removal of Licensing Requirements, Stock Limits and Movement Restrictions on Specified Foodstuffs (Amendment) Order 2022 to further amend the Removal of Licensing Requirements, Stock Limits and Movement Restrictions on Specified Foodstuffs Order 2016.

1.The stock limits for Edible Oil and Oilseeds of all States and Union Territories up to 30th June 2022 shall be as follows:

2. The states of Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Telangana and Rajasthan and exporters and importers who are able to explain that their stocks or part of it are meant for exports or sourced from imports shall however, be exempted from the prescribed stock limits and these States shall follow the stock limits prescribed by the State Administration.
In case, any legal entity holds stocks higher than the prescribed limit, the same entity shall make declaration of such on the portal of Department of Food & Public Distribution (https://evegoils.nic.in/eosp/login) and bring its stocks down to the prescribed limit within 30 days from the publication of the given Order i.e., by 5th march 2022].
