In furtherance to the update in the trail mail, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (“MCA”) has vide a notification dated 23rd March, 2018, announced that the Companies (Incorporation) Second Amendment Rules, 2018 (“Amendment Rules”) will be amending the Companies (Incorporation) Rules, 2014 (“Principal Rules”).
The Amendment Rules are yet to be published in the Official Gazette and will be effective from the date of the publication.

Rule 9 – Reservation of name
An application for reservation of name shall be made through the web service available atwww.mca.gov.in by using form RUN (Reserve Unique Name) along with fee as provided in the Companies (Registration offices and fees) Rules, 2014, which may either be approved or rejected, as the case may be, by the Registrar, Central Registration Centre after allowing re-submission of such application within fifteen days for rectification of the defects, if any. |
The Amendment Rules have substituted Rule 9 of the Principal Rules.
On an application for reservation of name of the company being made, if the Registrar, Central Registration Centre finds any defect, the applicant shall be allowed to resubmit the rectified application within a period of 15 days before the same is approved/rejected by the Registrar.
