The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, through a notification dated 18th December, 2019, has amended the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, whereby the manufacturers of Motor Vehicles who are affixing microdot identifiers in the vehicles and its parts/ components/ assemblies/ sub-assemblies, has to conform to the Automotive Industry Standard (AIS-155). The amendment came into force on 18th December, 2019.
