In a Memorandum dated 29th August, 2020 the Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health, Chennai has informed that the processing of applications for the following renewals have been made automated and non-discretionary in the DISH Online portal-
- Renewal of license under Factories Act, 1948
- Renewal of contractor license under the provisions of Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970.
- Renewal of contractor license under Inter- State Migrant Workmen (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 1979.
Further, the applicants can now straightaway download renewed licenses on submission of their application with the prescribed fees through the DISH Portal on and from 29th August, 2020.
This reform has been introduced with a view to implement Ease of Doing Business as a part of State Level Licensing Reforms.
