Through a Circular dated 15th March, 2021 the SEEPZ, Special Economic Zone (“Authority”) has informed that the “Work from Home” permission under the provisions of the SEZ Rules, 2006 (“Rules”) has been extended till 30th June, 2021.
Background:
Earlier in an Order dated 24th December, 2020 the Authority had extended the “Work From Home” provisions till 31st March, 2021.
Thereafter the Authority received various representations from the Unit holders as well as Trade Bodies representing them regarding the certainty of the period of “Work from Home” for better planning of their operations.
Further, the COVID 19 situation demands more precautionary measures for containment of the virus. Therefore the Maharashtra Government has also issued Guidelines regarding Covid-19 wherein it has encouraged “Work from Home” to be followed.
In light of this the present extension has been granted.
