With a view to amend the Gujarat Fire Prevention and Life Safety Measures Rules, 2014 (“Rules”), the Government of Gujarat has notified the Gujarat Fire Prevention and Life Safety Measures (Amendment) Rules, 2024 (“Amendment”) with immediate effect.
With the Amendment gaining effect, the provision regarding the renewal of fire safety certificate has been modified and going forward, the owner/occupier of a building or premise, individually or jointly (as the case may be) is required to apply for the renewal of the certificate in the prescribed manner, at least 2 months prior to the expiry of the Fire Safety Certificate.
Further, a new Form (Form B 13.3) has also been added in which the renewed Fire Safety Certificate will be issued to the owner/occupier.
