TRAI mandates compliance reports and 24 hour network outage reports from service providers from 1st October, 2024

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (“TRAI”) has directed all telecom service providers to submit report of compliance with its new quality of service standards and significant network outage report within 24 hours from the start of the outage with effect from 1st October, 2024 and are applicable to the service providers having the following licenses:

  • Unified Access Service License;
  • Unified Access License with authorisation for Access Service;
  • Internet Service Authorisation under any License; and
  • Authorisation under the Telecommunications Act, 2023 for providing Access or Broadband Service.

Key Highlights:

1. Wireless access service providers are required to submit compliance report within 15 days from the end of respective quarter or month, whichever is applicable in the format specified in Annexure I and are also required to submit report of significant network outage within 24 hours of the start of the outage in the format specified in Annexure II;

2. Wireline access providers are required to submit compliance report within 15 days from the end of respective quarter in the format specified in Annexure III;

3. Broadband wireline service providers need to submit compliance report according to the format specified in Annexure IV.
