Governor of Gujarat grants assent to the Gujarat Clinical Establishments (Registration and Regulation) (Amendment) Act, 2025; implementation pending separate State Government Notification

The Gujarat Clinical Establishments (Registration and Regulation) (Amendment) Act, 2025 (“Amendment Act”) has received assent of the Governor. The Amendment Act has received the Governor’s assent on 27th February, 2025 and will gain effect on the date specified by the State Government by a Notification in the Official Gazette.

Key Highlights:

  • Yoga and Naturopathy are being dispensed with as recognised system of medicine;
  • Existing clinical establishments will be required to apply for registration within three (3) years from the commencement of the Gujarat Clinical Establishments (Registration and Regulation) Act, 2021, and new clinical establishments will be required to apply for registration within six (6) months following the date of establishment or by 12th September, 2025, whichever is later;
  • A two-and-a-half-year limit on provisional registration will be applicable to clinical establishments for which standards have been notified by the State Government.

Note: The Amendment Act will come into force on such date as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.
