The Government of Maharashtra (“Ministry”) has declared the list of General holidays for the year 2019 under the Negotiable Instruments Act,1881(“N.I Act”), through a notification dated 3rd December,2018.
Under the Explanation to Section 25 of the N.I Act read with the Government of India Notification (page 57 onwards) ,the Ministry has declared 21 days, which are specified in the notification as Bank Holidays in the State of Maharashtra for the year 2019, in addition to the Public Holidays in the Notification.
