While doing away with the requirement to renew registration under the Punjab Shops and Establishments Act,1958, the Punjab Government has in an Order dated 1stNovember, 2018* also announced an expeditious online application process for Registering Shops and Establishments in the State.
Prior to this Order, the registration certificate was supposed to be renewed by 31st March, every year which has going forward, been done away with. The Order also mentions that application/s for registration submitted online will be granted within 1 day from the date of submission of the online application.

Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, West Bengal, Maharashtra and Karnataka
