Anyone including advertisers, publishers, printers will be liable for criminal prosecution for displaying unauthorized advertisements, says Bengaluru Municipality

The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has in a Public Notice dated August 1, 2018 announced an immediate ban on flexes, banners, buntings, flags, pamphlets and other such materials.

 Anyone including advertisers/publishers/printers along with the person whose photo appears in such displayed materials shall be liable for criminal prosecution under the provisions of the Karnataka Municipal Corporations Act, 1976 and Karnataka Open Places (Prevention Disfigurement) Act, 1981 with imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months along with a fine of upto Rs. 1,000 or both along with the penalties penalty prescribed under the original 2016 Notification by the BBMP.
