CAQM invokes actions under Stage-IV (‘Severe+’ Air Quality) of revised GRAP in Delhi-NCR region with immediate effect; actions under Stages I, II and III to continue

The Commission for Air Quality Management (“CAQM”) in Delhi-NCR and adjoining areas has invoked actions under Stage IV of the Graded Response Action Plan (“GRAP”) – ‘Severe+’ Air Quality (Delhi AQI > 450) and directed for continuation of actions under Stage I, Stage II and Stage III with immediate effect. This has been done to prevent further deterioration of the air quality.

Some of the measures taken for the effective implementation of GRAP are as follows:

  • Entry of truck traffic in Delhi must be stopped except for trucks carrying essential commodities/ providing essential services and LNG/CNG/Electric/ BS-VI Diesel trucks;
  • LCVs registered outside Delhi other than EVs / CNG / BS-VI diesel and except those carrying essential commodities / providing essential services must not be permitted to enter Delhi;
  • NCT State Governments / CNCTD directed to take a decision on allowing public, municipal and private offices to work on 50% strength and the rest to work from home;
  • Plying of Delhi – registered BS-lV and below diesel operated Medium Goods Vehicles (MGVs) and Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) in Delhi, except those carrying essential commodities / providing essential services must be strictly banned;
