CPCB extends the timeline for supply of plastic raw material by manufacturers to unregistered producers falling in MSME category to 30.06.2023

Central Pollution Control Board, in its constant effort to facilitate effective implementation of the Extended Producers Responsibility (“EPR”) Guidelines, has issued the following directions:

1. The timeline for supply of plastic raw material by plastic raw material manufacturers to unregistered producers falling in MSME category, on submission of proof of application for Registration on the EPR portal has been further extended to 30th June, 2023 from 31st May, 2023;
2. Provisional EPR Target will be generated at the time of registration and the final EPR target will be based on provision of complete details of sale to unregistered Brand Owners and will be provided during the filing of the annual return. However, this provision will be valid only for Producers who register up to 30th June, 2023.

All Producers, Importers and Brand Owners (“PIBOs”) and Plastic Waste Processors (“PWPs”) are required to follow the above instructions to ensure that EPR Guidelines are effectively implemented.
