Directorate of Health Services, Government of Delhi NCT (Directorate) has issued a corrigendum on the classification of laboratories and qualification for signing of laboratory reports.
The corrigendum has been issued to an earlier Public Notice that the Directorate had published in newspapers, on 12.12.2018, with regard to the classification of laboratories and qualification for signing of laboratory reports.
- All pathological laboratories are classified in the following three categories :-
- Basic Composite.
- Medium.
- Advanced.
- Owners of all pathological laboratories situated in NCT of Delhi must display a signage at a conspicuous place in their premises regarding the category of their pathological laboratory.
- Signing of Laboratory Reports:
- Reports of the Advanced category and Medium category are to be signed either by doctors registered with Delhi Medical Council having post graduate qualification in Pathology/ Bio- chemistry /Microbiology / Laboratory medicine or having MBBS with Ph.D qualification in Pathology/ Bio chemistry/Microbiology / Laboratory Medicine.
- Reports of Basic Composite laboratory are to be signed by doctors registered with Delhi Medical Council having minimum MBBS degree.
- If the reports provided by Laboratory are not signed in accordance with the above directions then one can lodge a complaint to the Secretary, Delhi Medical Council or Director General of Health Services.
- The list of laboratories surveyed/mapped by the Directorate can be viewed by the general public on the Delhi Government Website at www.health.delhigovt.nic.in a
