Effective 1st November, 2020, ultrasound equipment intended for external or internal use in human beings will be considered as a ‘drug’

The Department of Health and Family Welfare, through a notification dated 16^th October, 2019, has specified Ultrasound equipment which is intended for external or internal use in human beings to be considered as a drug with effect from the 1^st November, 2020. The same has been specified after consultation with the Drugs Technical Advisory Board.
