The Employee Provident Fund Organisation has in a circular dated 19th June, 2019 directed all employers to not obtain any joint declarations from persons who have requested for name change. The details should be uploaded from the unified portal where UAN can be linked with Aadhar, which will help authenticate the name, date of birth and gender of the employee.
Only in cases where dependent parent pensions are to be processed, father / mother name correction should be attempted through joint declarations.
