The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (“FSSAI”), through their Regulatory Compliance Division has mandated the use of FSSAI’s Organic Logo i.e., Jaivik Bharat Logo with effect from 1st April, 2019.
Background:
The FSSAI, through a notification dated 29th December, 2017 had made sure that the Food Business Operators are compliant with their existing and new products with all provisions of the Food Safety and Standards (Organic Foods) Regulation, 2017 (“Regulations”).
It has also been stated that the retailers who are dealing with Organic foods may also be required to endorse their licenses during renewal process.
