The Government of Jharkhand has introduced the Jharkhand Lift And Escalators Act, 2017(“Act”), an Act to provide for the regulation of the construction, installation, maintenance and safe working of lifts and escalators and all associated machinery and apparatus. However, the Act is not yet in force and will be effective only when notified by the Government in the Official Gazette.
