The Revenue and Disaster Management Department of Tamil Nadu (“Department”) has issued a Letter dated August 21, 2020 in furtherance of its earlier Notification number G.O.Ms. No. 396, dated July 31, 2020 which had extended the lockdown in the State till August 31, 2020.
The earlier Notification had declared complete lockdown in the State on all Sundays falling in the month of August and had also permitted the following on such days of complete lockdown:
a. operation of continuous process industries manufacturing essential items like medical devices and food, food processing industries, agricultures, Agro processing and plantations;
b. milk distribution, hospitals, pharmaceutical shops, hospital vehicles, ambulance and hearse vehicle services;
c. private vehicles to ply only for medical emergencies;
Now, in the present Letter, it is clarified that the following shall be permitted to operate during complete lockdowns on Sundays:
a. Manufacture of automobiles and their components;
b. Components for defence;
c. All export industries.
