Pursuant to the rising trend in the prices of pulses, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (“FSSAI”) in an Order dated 09th November 2020 has provided that the importer of pulses may carry out advance filling of Bill of entries in Food Import Clearance System as the imports are expected to arrive in large volumes through JNPT Mumbai, Chennai and Mundra ports.
Further, FSSAI has directed the Authorised Officers to facilitate and carry out food import clearance processes on priority, without delay for the consignments of imported pulses.
