The Labour and Employment Department, Jammu and Kashmir has, by an Order dated 10th August, 2018, made the following public services under all Labour Acts applicable in the State of Jammu and Kashmir online:
- Issuance of registration certificates/licences/cards, financial assistances, notices, challans, fines, penalties, inspection/verification reports, etc.
- Filling of returns by the occupiers/unit holders/employers, applications/payments/fees made by the applicants
The services can be availed / provided through the web portal www.jklabour.com. The introduction of the online application for registration and renewals will help eliminate the process of manual applications. The circular further states that hard/manual copies will not be entertained in any form.
All occupiers/unit holders/employers are required to maintain all the records under all labour acts applicable to the State of Jammu and Kashmir in digital/electronic form ONLY.
Background:
The Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion had launched the Business Reforms Action Plan 2017 (“Action Plan”), where States were mandated to enable online portals for various services. The Action Plan is an initiative to simplify and rationalize the regulatory compliances (related to registration and renewal of license) which is another step towards ease of doing business.
