Karnataka Health Department issues preventive and control measures in the State owing to gradual increase in COVID-19 cases; owners of offices and industrial establishments to ensure mask usage and permit entry subject to wearing face masks

In view of the gradual increase in COVID-19 cases over the last ten days, Health Department of Karnataka (“Government”) has issued preventive and control measures to be followed and implemented in the State –
- Owners / administrators of offices, industrial establishments, shopping malls, restaurants, pubs, cafeteria, hotels, hostels, educational institutions, shall ensure mask usage and that entry / access to such spaces are only allowed to those who are wearing face covering / mask;
- All persons are required to wear face mask compulsorily in public places and while travelling in vehicles personal / private / public (bus, train, etc.);
- Police personnel shall be utilized to enforce compliance in respect of compulsory wearing of face covering / masks by public in public places;
- Persons with symptoms of ILI and SARI and those under high-risk group and with comorbidities should get tested for COVID-19 on priority and remain isolated at home till the result is declared;
- Persons who are eligible for COVID-19 vaccination doses and especially precaution dose, are advised to get it done on priority;
The Government has directed all the administrators / owners / concerned officers to ensure implementation of the above-mentioned preventive and control measures in the larger interest of public health.
