Maharashtra Govt. notifies extension to guidelines under ‘Mission Begin Again’; public places to remain closed from 8 pm to 7 am; guidelines effective up to 15th April, 2021

The Government of Maharashtra (“Government”) has notified extension of guidelines under “Mission Begin Again” in light of the threat of spike in COVID-19 cases in the State. These guidelines shall be effective till 15th April, 2021.

Key Highlights:

1. All private offices except the ones related to health and other essential services may work with 50 % capacity;

2. Manufacturing sector allowed to function at full capacity subject to restrictions:

• Entry not allowed without masks;
• Temperature measuring devices to be used to ensure that no one with fever is allowed to enter;
• Adequate hand sanitizers to be kept at convenient locations;
• Ensure manpower to enforce wearing of masks and physical distancing by all visitors at all times;

Violation of above-mentioned may lead the concerned manufacturing units to be closed for a period until the COVID-19 pandemic stays notified as a disaster along with penalties prescribed under the Disaster Act for the owner of the premises.

3. Testing – The proportion of RT-PCR tests in the total mix to be scaled up on best effort basis to 70 percent or more;

4. Tracking – The new positive cases detected as a result of intensive testing to be isolated / quarantined at the earliest and their contacts have to be immediately traced and quarantined;

5. Gatherings of more than 5 people prohibited from 8 pm to 7 am;

6. Public places to remain closed from 8 pm to 7 am;

7. Cinema halls, malls, auditoriums and restaurants to remain closed from 8 pm to 7 am; home delivery and takeaways permitted.
