MCA amends Management and Administration Rules; restricts member related info. such as address, e-mail id, UIN, PAN No. from being disclosed during inspection/or taking extracts

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (“MCA”) has recently amended the Companies (Management and Administration) Rules, 2014, which in effect restricts the following information pertaining to members from being made available when registers, returns and indices are inspected or for taking extracts or copies which are mentioned as a part of registers, or index or return.

1. address or registered address (in case of a body corporate);
2. e-mail ID;
3. Unique Identification Number;
4. PAN Number.

These changes have come into effect 6th April, 2022.
