Ministry of Health and Family Welfare proposes to exempt Gelatine capsules from labelling requirement under the Drugs and Cosmetics Rules, 1945

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (“Ministry”) has published the Draft Drugs and Cosmetics (Amendment) Rules, 2018 (“Draft Rules”) which proposes to amend the Drugs and Cosmetics Rules, 1945, (“Principal Rules”).
The Ministry has invited Objections and suggestions, from any person likely to be affected. The Objections and suggestions should be addressed to the Under Secretary (Drugs), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, Room No. 414A, D-Wing, Nirman Bhavan, New Delhi – 110011 or e-mailed at rq.singh72@nic.in within 13th September 2018.

The Draft Rules propose to exempt gelatine capsules from labelling requirements under Rule 127(2) of the Principal Rules wherein the container of a drug containing permitted colour should have the common name of the colour declared on the label.
