The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in a notification dated 29th May, 2020 has urged broadcasters and producers of TV serials to make payments which are due up to March, 2020 to all persons at the earliest.
Background
In view of COVID-19 pandemic, there has been a financial downturn in various sectors of the economy including the Broadcasting industry. The Bureau of Outreach and Communication (BOC) is working on a war footing for liquidating the pendency of advertisement bills of the media industry.
In addition to that, it is equally important that the employees (and their families) who are working in this sector are paid for their services. Although some persons had their dues cleared but for others it must be cleared at the earliest.
