MoHFW issues order for the use of Aadhaar authentication for licensing/ registration of Food Business Operators through FSSAI

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, has issued an Order requiring Food Business Operators (“FBO”) to undergo Aadhaar authentication through the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (“FSSAI”) for the following services;

1. Registration and Licensing of Food Business Operators;
2. Inspection of Food Business Operators;
3. Verification of candidates while attending various trainings and certification programs conducted by FSSAI.

It has also been specified that the notification will come into effect from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
