The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (“NPPA”) has, through an order dated 26th April, 2018, withdrawn the ceiling price of Ferrous Salt (A) + Folic Acid (B) – (100mg + 500 mcg) Tablet, effective since 26th April, 2018.
Background:
Through Notification Number S.O. 3091(E) dated 20th September, 2017, the NPPA fixed the ceiling price of Ferrous Salt (A) + Folic Acid (B) – (100mg + 500 mcg) Tablet based on the procurement price of Government procurement agencies. The ceiling price of the Ferrous Salt (A) + Folic Acid (B) – (100mg + 500 mcg) Tablet was further revised through an order dated 2nd April, 2018. Further to the said notification and the order, M/S. Bolchem Healthcare Pvt. Ltd. (“Bolchem”) prayed to NPPA for revision of the said ceiling price fixed by the said notification as stated above. Bolchem approached the Hon’ble High Court at Madhya Pradesh at Jabalpur and the Hon’ble High Court directed the NPPA to review the said notification. Further to this directions issued by the Hon’ble High Court the NPPA decided to withdraw the said notification in respect of Ferrous Salt (A) + Folic Acid (B) – (100mg + 500 mcg) Tablet.
