The Petroleum and Explosives Safety organization , in a circular dated 9th March, 2021 has advised all the stakeholders to start on boarding for Level II barcodes for Class 6 division 3 explosives and level III barcodes for class 2, class 3 and class 6 Division 1&2 explosives.
The onboarding process for Level II and Level III will be completed by 25th March, 2021 and Phase II of Project System on Explosives Tracking and tracing (“SETT”) will be made effective from 1st April, 2021.
In order to continue with transactions after the above mentioned deadline, all manufacturers are advised to complete the re-engineering process in their plants and on-board in SETT system.

Background :
The Phase-I ( 2D bar codes on outer packages of the explosives of the project SETT was launched on 1st March, 2019. The phase II ( 2D bar codes on the intermediate packages of the explosives) was proposed to be launched on 31st March, 2020, however it got delayed due to the covid-19 pandemic.
