In the wake of the fast spread of COVID-19 virus post relaxation of lockdown measures; with a view to curb the spread of the disease, the Department of Revenue and Disaster Management, Puducherry has issued additional lockdown measures for the Union Territory.

The additional lockdown measures are as follows –

1. All private offices, shops and establishments will function from 6 am to 7 pm only;
2. There will be complete lockdown on every Tuesday without any relaxation for the entire Union Territory of Puducherry;
3. During the lockdown, all shops, establishments, industries, banks, Government offices, private offices will remain closed. Also, there will be no movement of bus, taxi, auto (except on emergency/permitted purpose);
4. Only medical shops / pharmacies and milk booths will remain open.

Violation of the above-mentioned measures will attract penalties under the provisions of Disaster Management Act, 2005 and Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897.
