The Ministry of Home Affairs (“Ministry”) has through a notification dated 7th March 2019, brought in changes to the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Rules, 2011 (“2011 Rules”).
The major changes that have been introduced are, online processes at the time of obtaining registration or prior permission to receive foreign contribution, renewal and amendment processes.
We have listed below the key changes have been introduced through the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Rules, 2019.
- Submission of applications for obtaining ‘registration’ or ‘prior permission’ under Rule 9 of the 2011 Rules, are to be done electronically.
- Fees for applying for prior permission has been enhanced to Rs. 3,000/ from Rs.1,000/.
- Fees for applying for registration has also been enhanced to Rs.5,000/- from Rs. 2,000/-.
- Renewal fees for certificate of registration has been enhanced to Rs.1,500 from Rs. 500/-.
- Late fee of Rs. 5,000/- for late renewal for certificate of registration has been introduced.
- Application Forms have been subdivided for convenience and clarity. The details are as follows:
