Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (“TRAI”) has directed all telecom service providers to provide details of segmented offer, on a monthly basis for each licensed service area (“LSA”), for the period from January 2020 to November, 2020.
The above-mentioned details need to be submitted in the prescribed format (provided in the attached Notification) by 19th December, 2020.
The details required are as follows –
1. details of rates and related terms and conditions, quantum of services, name of the tariff plan and validity period of subscription and benefits available to the subscribers in the tariff plan in which segment offer has been given;
2. number of segmented offer to the existing subscribers under the respective tariff plan at the end of the month;
3. details of rates and related terms and conditions, quantum of services, validity period of subscription and benefits available to the subscribers in each of the said segmented offer;
4. number of subscribers, at the end of each month, who have availed the segmented offer within each tariff plan;
5. the declaration that the benefits of such segmented offers have been made available to all the existing customers falling in the segment / class and the principle of non-discrimination has been strictly followed;
From the month of December, 2020 onwards, all the details mentioned above with regard to segmented offers will be submitted to the Authority within 10 working days from the last day of the month.
Background
TRAI has issued this direction in pursuance of Hon’ble Supreme Court’s Order dated 6th November, 2020 which directed that all details / information regarding segmented offers by service providers to be submitted to TRAI.
