The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (“MCA”), through a Gazette Notification dated 18th December, 2020, issued the Companies (Auditor’s Report) Second Amendment Order, 2020 (Amendment Order). As per this Amendment Order, the provisions of the Companies (Auditor’s Report) Order, 2020 (“Auditor’s Report Order”), will now be applicable on every report made by the auditor on the accounts of every company audited by him, for every financial year starting from the financial year commencing on or after 1st April, 2021 instead of for the financial year commencing on or after 1st April, 2020.
Earlier, the provisions of the Auditors’ Report Order were to become applicable from FY commencing on April 1, 2019, which was later extended by a year to April 1, 2020. Now, the application has been further deferred to April 1, 2021.
