CAQM revokes Stage III of GRAP Actions with immediate effect; Stage I and II GRAP actions to continue

The Commission for Air Quality and Management (“CAQM”) has immediately revoked implementation of actions under Stage III (‘Severe’ Air Quality) of the revised Graded Response Action Plan (“GRAP”) which was invoked on 22.12.2023, immediately. CAQM mandated continuation and intensification of actions under Stage I and Stage II of the GRAP in the entire NCR and ordered that these actions to be reviewed and monitored by all agencies concerned by keeping strict vigil in order to obviate the need of re-imposition of Stage III of GRAP actions owing to AQI level further slipping into ‘severe’ Category.

However, the Construction and Demolition (C & D) project sites and industrial units which have been issued specific closure orders on account of violations/ non-compliances of various statutory directions, rules, guidelines etc. cannot resume their operations without any specific order to this effect from CAQM.
