Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has issued Circular No. 128/47/2019-GST dated 23rd December, 2019 to direct mandatory quoting of Document Identification Number (DIN) in respect of all communications including e- mails sent to taxpayers and other concerned persons by any office of CBIC across the country with effect from 24th day of December, 2019.
Also, the standardized formats of search authorizations, summons, arrest memos, inspection notices, provision release etc. are also made available ( Format is herewith attached). When downloaded and printed, these standardized documents would bear a pre-populated DIN.
