CBIC notifies the class of registered person who are required for generate e-invoice from 1st day of April, 2021 onwards

Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has issued Notification No.05/2021-Central Tax dated 8th February, 2021 in order to modify Notification No.88-Central Tax dated 10th November, 2020 to notify the class of registered persons who shall be required to generate e-invoice from 1st day of April, 2021.                                                                                                                                                                             

According to the amendment in the Notification, the registered persons whose annual turnover in any preceding financial year from 2017-18 onwards exceeds INR 50 crores shall be required to generate e-invoice in respect of supply of goods and/or services or both to a registered person or for exports. Currently, till March, 2021 this threshold is INR 100 crores.
