By way of a Circular No. NDC/Appl Software/ 2018 dated April 2, 2018, Employees Provident Fund Organization (“EPFO”) has issued a list of instructions to Regional PF Commissioners and other officers to set up vigil and ensure strict compliance during the settlement of online claims. Among a number of instructions, the following are of interest to employers and/ or members:
(i) Member/employers may be contacted by the Department to confirm genuineness of the claim, during test check of genuineness of the online cases.
(ii) Employers have been advised to regularly scrutinize the list of online claims preferred by the members and inform irregularities.
