Further to the trail mail, the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (“EPFO”) has in a recent circular dated 14th May, 2018, revised the instructions on “Submission of claims through online mode in case of settlement amount is above Rs.10.00 lacs – Revised instructions”.
The present Circular clarifies that the below-mentioned instructions will be kept on hold till its functionality is developed by the National Development Council.
Background:
As detailed in the trail mail, the EPFO had previously informed that:
- in view to step up security, the claims already received online from claimants shall be sent online to employers for further verification, only after which the claim will be settled; and
- such employers are required to return the claims to the EPFO office, within 3 days, either accepting or rejecting them.
