In a notification dated 6th May, 2019, the Industries and Commerce Department of Haryana (“Department”) has stated that existing Societies may apply for allotment of new registration number to the District Registrar through the Department’s website [www.haryanaindustries.gov.in] till 31st May, 2019.
Background:
As per Rule 8 (1) of the Haryana Registration and Regulation of Societies (Amendment) Rules, 2018 (“Amendment Rules”), existing societies were required to apply to the District Registrar for allotment of new registration within 31st December, 2018 on payment of the prescribed fee.
The website of the Department had developed technical issue and was not fully operational during a period of about one month during November-December, 2018. Hence, many societies were unable to apply for various time bound online services.
The State Government thus decided to provide a period of one month, from 01 May 2019 to 31 May 2019, to the societies, who were unable to apply for online clearances through the Department website, for complying with the Amendment Rules.
