Government of Gujarat fixes maximum amount for RT-PCR/TrueNAT/CBNAAT tests done by Laboratories; maximum Rs. 1500/- to be charged if patient goes to the lab and Rs. 2000/- if sample is collected from home

The Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Gujarat in an Order dated 17th September, 2020 has revised maximum rates for COVID-19 testing (RT-PCR/TrueNAT/CBNAAT) by laboratories.

Going forward, if a patient goes to a laboratory for COVID-19 testing and gives his sample for testing, then a maximum amount of Rs. 1500/- will be charged. In addition to this, if sample of the patient is collected from his home by laboratory technicians then a maximum amount of Rs. 2000/- will be charged. This amount will include all expenses.

Further, if a laboratory charges more than the amount mentioned in this Order for RT-PCR/TrueNAT/CBNAAT test then that laboratory’s license will be revoked.
