The Government of Karnataka in a Gazette Notification dated 7th August, 2023 has notified the Factories (Karnataka Amendment) Act, 2023 (“2023 Amendment”) which aims to amend the Factories Act, 1948 in its application to the State of Karnataka, has gained effect immediately.
The present Notification amends provisions with respect to working hours in factories. Further, specific conditions are notified for employment of women in factories between 6:00 am to 7:00 pm.
