Government of Himachal Pradesh increases applicability threshold of Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970 to 30 or more workmen (against 20)

In a recent Ordinance dated 9^th July, 2020, the Governor has enforced the Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Himachal Pradesh Amendment Ordinance, 2020 (Ordinance).

The Ordinance has increased the applicability threshold of applicability of the Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970 to 30 or more workmen as against the earlier threshold of 20.
