The Governor of Punjab has exempted industrial establishments of Punjab engaged in continuous process industry from the provisions of the Punjab Industrial establishment (National and Festival Holidays and Casual and Sick Leave) Act, 1965 (“Act”).
Therefore, industries in the State engaged in continuous process are now exempted from all the provisions of the Act, such as grant of holidays with wages on national and festival holidays, payment of twice the average daily wages in case workers work on holidays, grant of grant of sick leave with wages to workmen employed etc.
