Government of Rajasthan amends regulations made under the Rajasthan Epidemic Diseases Ordinance, 2020; mandates display of poster at the entry point of the premises stating the importance of wearing face masks and maintaining physical distance

The Home Department, Government of Rajasthan (“Department”) has notified amendments to the Regulations made under the Rajasthan Epidemic Diseases Ordinance, 2020 (“Principal Regulations”).

Background

The Department had issued the Principal Regulations on 3rd May 2020. The Principal Regulations were amended by virtue of notification dated 26th May 2020.

The Department has now made additions to the Principal Regulations.

The key highlights are:

a. The Department has made it mandatory for every head of the office or workplace like Government, Private, Educational Institutions, Factories, Shopping malls, banks, showrooms etc. to display a poster (in Hindi or English) at the entry point of the premises stating the importance of wearing face masks and maintaining physical distancing (do gaz ki doori).

b. The Department has also made mandatory for the business associations (vyapar mandal) and Mandi Association to display a poster in a prominent place in the market or mandi concerned.
