In a recent newsflash in the Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organization (“PESO”), Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion website, it has been stated that the System for Explosives Tracking and Tracing (SETT) has been launched; effective 1st January, 2019.

Background:
The PESO, in a Circular dated 5th February, 2018, had declared the implementation of System for Explosives Tracking and Tracing (“SETT”). The objective of SETT is to develop system for effective tracking of every explosive right from the Manufacturer to the user end, throughout the supply chain and integrating SETT to the existing Explosives Return System (ERS) and the Explosives Licensing Module of PESO.
A core committee was constituted comprising the members from PESO and Explosives Industry to work on the process of standardization of the data on each and every explosive manufacturer in the country and SETT implementation methodology in a time bound manner.
This Standardisation Software Module has been developed for the:
- Standardization of all physical pertaining to every authorized explosive,
- Standardization of packing patterns of every explosive,
- Standardization of every factory location and every manufacturing building.
